Episode 108: Spotlight Feature, Ms. AyeVee

We were blessed to have Ms. AyeVee, otherwise known as Ashley Vargas, in the KWNK studio when she came to Reno to perform at the Spoken Views Poetry Collective’s Monday Night Poetry Open Mic.
Ms. AyeVee is a literary artist and community coordinator out of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is the author of a poetry collection titled Broken Silence.
In this interview, I talk extensively with Ms. AyeVee about her artistic practice, the process of writing poetry, and the differences between stage and page poetry.
The highlight of this interview for me were her comments on what CAN be be a spoken word poem.
